Quick: How many movies can you store on your flash drive? One? Two? As far as storage solutions go, flash drives are designed to address small demands. You can fit a lot on the current crop of flash drives, but you certainly can’t fit anything and everything. If you have storage needs that include HD movies and similar items, you are going to want to look to something like an external hard drive.
But what if there was a flash drive that could give you a powerful storage solution? The DataTraveller Ultimate GT wants to be the last flash drive you are going to need for quite some time. While the current leading crop of flash drives can only offer a few dozen gigabytes, this new flash drive from Kingston Technology wants to leave all of them in the dust by offering users a full two terabytes on each flash drive they offer.
To put it in terms that everyone can understand: With one of these flash drives, you are going to have the ability to store as many as 160 HD movies. Obviously, you can store whatever you want, but this number should give you a clear indication of how powerful this thing is going to be.
The product is currently looking to ship in February of this year. It is unknown at this time how much the flash drive is going to cost, but it stands to reason that the costs are going to prove to be quite high. The company’s earlier release, which gave you the ability to store up to a full terabyte, is currently available on Amazon for over two grand. At this moment, it is unknown if Kingston Technology is planning to release a more affordable version of their flash drive to consumers.
