Because screen cracks are usually an inevitable part of owning an iPhone and fixing those screens is quite the task, Apple has developed a machine made specifically for replacing them.
Four hundred of these new machines have been created and will be distributed to twenty-five different countries, and while they do replace the glass of iPhone screens, they are also programmed to properly line up the sensors with the correct spots on the screen for optimum use. These Horizon Machines have been beta-tested in London store locations to minimize the Genius Bar crowd.
Before this, iPhone owners were required to hand over their phones to an Apple service facility for several days. Now, screens can be repaired in minutes or hours. Screen replacement fees have decreased to $129, or $29 and under for Apple Care customers.
Although the iPhone’s warranty is unaffected by a third party attempting to fix the advice, the repair costs for any other problems the attempt creates can be increased. All customers are encouraged not to tamper with their devices on their own, as warranties can be invalidated, and both user agreements and legal rules can be violated.
Fortunately, these miraculous new metal boxes should easily take care of all screen replacements in the future.
